Business taxes need to be taken seriously, and they will depend on which province you wish to practice in.
The lesson here is to make sure that you get everything in writing, making written contracts is the best way to make an agreement with someone or a business in order to minimize any misunderstandings. A contract is a good tool to help manage business risk.
Contracts can be modified, so be willing to negotiate everything.
